Bro. Dee Dowdy has been serving as a pastor in the United Methodist church since 1995. He received his B.A. degree for the University of Montevallo and his Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. Dee is married to the Rev. Our Church Secretary is Amber Rhodes. She is the wife of Rich Rhodes and the mother of Taylee and Bret Austin. Amber started in Jan 09. More to come.

Choir Director
|
Mary Wood Perry has served as Choir Director at Flint Hill UMC since May of 2003. She and her husband, Wiley, returned to her childhood home in 2001 when she retired from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she had worked for 27 years, most recently serving as Director of Administrative Affairs in the Office of Development. After childhood piano lessons and high school band, Mary studied music at Birmingham-Southern College and at UAB and sang alto in choirs in college and in several Birmingham churches, but had never directed before the opportunity arose at Flint Hill. Mary enjoys selecting and programming the service music using an eclectic mix of familiar hymns and newer praise choruses. She describes the choir as “a wonderful group of dedicated and hard-working people who have a common desire to make music an integral part of the worship experience.” Under her leadership, the choir has grown and now averages around 25 members at Sunday morning services.

Church Pianist/Organist
|
Marcia Pemberton is our church organist. She has held this job faithfully for many years. We would certainly be lost without her. Marcia is a life time resident of Alexander City. She worked for Russell for many years, returned to college and after graduation began working for the State of Alabama. Marcia is the mother of two children, Natalie Fuller and Griff Pemberton. Griff is currently the Associate Pastor of Centre UMC. Marcia also has three grandchildren, Caleb, Hadley, and Abbie.
